Discovering Who We Are
Our Story and More

BLEND was created to support the empowerment of Durham’s Black community through a collaborative, solution-based approach to the challenges and
opportunities being faced by these equity-deserving populations.

Bringing together diverse minds to transform communities and foster inclusive progression

Meet PG Case

PG Case successfully completed his degree in Sociology with Trent University Durham-GTA where he learned fresh perspectives that benefit diverse social experiences – many of which he has implemented in his community work. PG is the co-founder of DurhamONE, which supports his devotion to amplifying the voice of Durham residents in matters such as economic development, safety and community engagement.

He is the manager at one of Canada’s leading telecommunications companies. Initiating innovative strategies to improve communication needs in a fast-paced and evolving environment. Through his work with DRPS on the Diversity Advisory Committee and numerous projects with the Region of DurhamOne including membership on the Durham Anti-Black Racism Taskforce, PG has a strong track record of collaboration to take on the challenges, concerns and barriers that stand in the way of residents and business owners thriving in Durham

"In order to be successful in this work, the community has to be engaged, educated and empowered"

Meet Stephen

Stephen is a well-known community advocate, with over twelve years of experience working with the municipal government. He uses an anti-oppression (“AO”), anti-Black racism (“ABR”)
lens to impact change to both the community and the systems in which we operate.

Stephen has extensive experience leading both projects and teams with his proven ability to manage teams as large as 160 people. Stephen is a trained Community Development practitioner who has gone on to continue his education to include certifications like Advance Crisis Response Training using the NOVA model, and Victim Services program focused on crisis intervention and harm reduction. Stephen has over 20 years of lived and practical experience supporting communities experiencing challenges with guns and gangs

"Amplifying the voice of residents as a method to building a cohesive and collaborative community is essential to our success"
